We see it all the time: pool owners calling in panic because their pool seems to be losing more water than they remember.
Hold tight! It may not be a true pool leak, but simple evaporation. Based on our experience, a pool with no heater, waterfalls, or water features can lose as much as a quarter inch of water per day, averaged over several days. That’s more than one and a half inches in a week! While this is on the higher end of evaporation, many pools will lose less than this, but it's a useful guideline to keep in mind.
